• Celebrate the season with The Nutcracker presented by
    Florida Arts & Dance Company!

  • Looking for a fun, festive holiday experience to launch you into the holiday spirit?  Check out The Nutcracker presented by Florida Arts & Dance Company (FADC) of Stuart!

FADC students will take to the stage at the historic Lyric Theatre in downtown Stuart for a series of performances, December 14-16. “We are now in our 22nd year of presenting The Nutcracker at The Lyric, so it really is a holiday tradition that our community looks forward to year after year!” said Joann Gallagher, FADC Board President.

The show features the whimsical tale of a young girl who travels with her prince to land of sweets filled with waltzing snowflakes and dancing candy canes. “Our dancers, instructors and volunteers work for months to perfect choreography, develop costuming and create props to bring the show to life in a fresh and exciting way each year.” said Gallagher.

Performances December 14-16 including The Gentle Nutcracker
Dance students are joined by guest artists from Russian Ballet Orlando for performances on December 14 and 15. On Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 pm, FADC students perform “The Gentle Nutcracker” a shortened version of the show with subdued lights and sound for those who are sensory sensitive or those with young children. Tickets are available at www.lyrictheatre.com or by calling the box office at 772-286-7827.

The shows are funded by monies raised through corporate and community sponsorships as well as fundraising efforts. This year’s show sponsors include The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, Publix Super Markets Charities, Balanced Bodyworks, TC Palm/The Stuart News, Awareness Technologies, Matilda’s Lifestyle, Lauri Goldstein and Lively Orthodontics.

Building Strong Youth Through the Power of Dance
“Dance is a powerful medium.” said Gallagher “Our instructors, board members, sponsors and parents all share the vision that through dance, we are building strong, focused and confident young people.”
