FADC began in 1991 as the privately owned and operated Palm City Dance Academy, located in Palm City, Florida. Owned and operated by Cecilia Serra, the academy established a reputation as a quality dance studio offering a variety of dance education. In 1994, through the efforts of community leaders, parents, arts enthusiasts and studio personnel, Palm City Academy became a not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 Cultural Arts Organization named Florida Arts & Dance Company, and is now located in Stuart, Florida.

From 2002 to 2008, under the direction of Gen LaGratta, FADC's outreach programs were enhanced by adding dance education for special needs children.

Currently, FADC extensively recruits the best instructors, always enhancing our curriculum to provide top quality dance education. FADC’s community outreach programs continue to grow and expand to provide dance education to all.
