• Mina Hamilton

    Programs Director & Dance Instructor

    Mina graduated FADC in 2004 with fourteen years of ballet and four years of jazz training. She has been a teacher at the studio for more than ten years.  Mina has a bachelor's degree in finance from Florida Atlantic University.

     

     

  • Samara Shevlin

    Dance Instructor

    Samara began studying dance at The Dance Academy of Stuart at an early age before spending a year training with Florida Arts & Dance Company. She later became a dancer and choreographer with Wings To Fly Dance Company under the instruction of artistic director Tasha Patterson.

    Samara was then accepted to The Joffrey Ballet School in New York City where she spent two years studying, choreographing, and performing under the instruction of artistic director Michael Blake.

    She has performed with local productions as well as with The Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Center, The New York School of Burlesque, and is currently a performer within a professional knife-throwing act. After earning a degree in psychology she began teaching jazz and contemporary at Florida Arts & Dance Company where she’s called home for the last 4 years.

    Samara continues to train both in dance and sideshow art and is passionate about helping her students succeed as creative individuals.

  • Meredith Flores

    Dance Instructor

    Meredith Flores White is from Southern California where she attended the San Diego School of Creative & Performing Arts Academy where she studied and trained in multiple performing arts disciplines, including dance (ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater) acting, and singing.

    She went to college at UCLA, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in World Arts & Cultures: Dance Concentration, emphasizing Dance Performance, Choreography & Theories. She also received a Minor in Education. After graduation, she traveled to the Philippines to teach classes for professional dancers. She also performed on television in a weekly variety show as a member of G-Force, a professional dance company known for its’ stylistic choreography deriving from its modern interpretations of jazz, hip-hop, and jazz-funk.

    In Los Angeles Meredith taught dance in multiple schools and studios and spent her years in Los Angeles working with several Dance and Performance Arts Agencies as a professional dancer. Meredith was also a member of The Marshall Dance Company with an outreach program focused on dance education in public schools throughout the city.

    She has found a powerful correlation between entertainment and education. She hopes to continue on this inspiring journey where she can empower others to find power through their own creative expression.

  • Maureen Armstrong

    Irish Step Instructor

    Maureen Armstrong performed Irish dance at Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall in New York.  

    She is an adjudicator of Irish Dance Competitions throughout North America.  Maureen's students have successfully qualified to compete at the World Championships in Irish Dance held in Ireland. 

  • Adam Schnell

    Special Guest Artist

    Adam brings to us a vast international performance and teaching experience. His professional performance experience includes: Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Sarasota Ballet, Nevada Ballet, Omaha Theater Ballet and Channel Islands Ballet. Adam is currently working toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in arts management and dance education. We are thrilled to add a male teacher to our ballet program to teach a pas de deux class. This will allow our students to experience partnering on a more regular basis.

  • Kaileigh Bates

    Dance Instructor

    Kaileigh began her dance career with ballet at just two years old here at FADC. As her passion for dance grew, so did her love for different styles such as jazz, lyrical and hip hop. While attending FADC she found herself working every summer camp. That's when she realized her overall passion was to share her love and knowledge of dance with the kids around her. Now she finds herself back home at FADC doing just that!

    In addition to teaching at FADC, she is an active company member of Wings To Fly Dance Company.  She loves to share that while she's training her students to grow and develop in the dance world, she herself is also training alongside them.  Teaching here at FADC is her favorite thing in the world and she couldn't imagine herself employed anywhere else!

     

  • Aubrey Corkum

    Dance Instructor

    Aubrey Corkum started dancing at 3 years of age at Dance Kraze and concurrently at The University of Hartford, Connecticut. After moving to Florida, she received instruction at Florida Arts and Dance Company under Mina Hamilton and Samara Shevlin. She performed in numerous Nutcrackers with lead parts such as Clara and many recital pieces and ballets. She auditioned for and was accepted into the Joffrey Ballet School, Georgia, where she danced under Colleen Barnes Merwin and Mitchell Finke.

    Concentration on Classical, Vaganova and pointe additionally learning Horton Technique, Alexander Technique, Jazz, Theatre, Improv and Choreography. While in Georgia she performed in the finally piece of Chicago. She also attended Joffrey Cirque du Soleil, Las Vegas, under the instruction of Tiffany Baker. She also auditioned for and was accepted to perform with the New York City Rockettes.

    Aubrey participated in extensive hours of training to achieve her Dance teaching certification from the University of Nevada. Currently she still dances and competes in Irish feises along with pursuing her TRNG Irish Step teaching certificate.

  • Mckaleigh Lonobile

    Dance Instructor

    Mckaleigh started dancing at the age of 3, she trained at Pittsford Dance Studio in Rochester, New York where she danced competitively from the age of 5 to 18.  From there she moved to New York City to train at The Joffrey Ballet School's jazz and contemporary program for 2 years. 

    She trained in styles including ballet, Horton, contemporary, jazz, theater, Cunningham Graham, and voice.  From there she started dancing professionally with RWS Entertainment Group also in New York City where she helped with the creation of Step One Dance Company for Holland America Line. 

    She is currently still dancing for them and hopes to spread her love and passion for dance by teaching other dancers.
