FADC was founded with a vision to enhance cultural awareness through classical ballet instruction, dance education and performance opportunities. We continue
to expand this mission through programs for special needs and at risk children, dance training in a variety of disciplines, adult programs and musical theatre.
DANCE INCLUSION is a unique dance, music and therapeutic exercise program for students in the Martin County School District Special Needs Program. Now in its 8th year, Dance Inclusion strives to equip students with life skills while giving them
an opportunity for self expression and involvement in the performing arts. This is achieved by combining song, floor exercises and creative movement activities all under the direction of a trained physical dance therapist. Dance Inclusion gives special needs
children self-confidence while also improving their physical & mental abilities. Many of them perform in FADC’s END-OF-YEAR Performance, showing what they have achieved over the year. This program is funded through Children’s Services Council of Martin County and private donations.
MUSIC TOGETHER offers classes to mixed ages (infant to 5years) accompanied by an adult. Children participate b y singing, moving, chanting, listening and exploring musical instruments. Through the generosity of a grant from the The Wolcott Family Foundation, and The Lost Tree Foundation, this program has been adapted to serve the autistic children in our community. Teachers and aids work with students by singing songs and playing a variety of musical instruments. Children learn by observation rather than by traditional formal instruction. Classes are offered both to local schools and through private classes.
LET’S DANCE is a program for children in nearby Indiantown and is now in its 8th year. The program provides free weekly dance lessons in jazz & tap to children ages 8-12 from low income households. Transportation and dancewear are provided along with costumes, pictures and tickets to the performance for their families. They perform at FADC’s end of the year program. Let’s Dance not only teaches dance fundamentals and choreography but is designed to promote positive attitudes & memories, discipline and teamwork. This program is supported through Indiantown Community Trust Fund and private donations.

HISTORY OF DANCE is a combination of lectures, demonstrations and performances presented to Martin County students. Now in its 10th season History of Dance offers elementary school students a cultural perspective on the development of dance from its primitive roots to today’s dance forms. It seeks to educate students in the performing arts to foster their lifetime support of the arts whether as performers or patrons.
Nutcracker CHILDREN’S DISCOVEREY SERIES
Now in its 13th season offers four performances of this holiday favorite to children who range in age from
kindergarten to high school at a discounted rate. This program is to insure that all of our communities’ children are able to experience a live performance with professional guest artists.
THE NANCY O’MALLEY SCHOLARSHIP FUND was founded by Nancy O’Malley and is now in its 9th year, Students are given financial scholarships based on financial need.
THE PINE SCHOOL PILOT PROGRAM IN DANCE EDUCATION Now in its 3rd year, FADC is proud to have been chosen by The Pine School to create and instruct their Dance Education Program. FADC conducts weekly dance classes for 2nd -9th grade as part of their regular educational curriculum. Included in this program are choreography, creative movement and dance history classes.
ART IN MOTION is funded through a grant from the Community Foundation of Martin and Palm Beach County. These children participate in weekly classes with the goal of performing in the Dance and Theatre production.
Payment such as dance wear, costumes, performance fees, photos, etc are provided for each student through the generosity of this grant. |
