Dance Programs Outreach at FADC

This is a unique therapeutic exercise program that combines dance and music, part of the dance inclusion programs, to support students in the Martin County School District ESE Program. This initiative fosters self-confidence while enhancing their physical and mental abilities. Through the Nancy O'Malley Scholarship Fund, students are provided the opportunity to perform and showcase their achievements, with support from the United Way of Martin County and Seacoast Bank Foundation, including participation in the Nutcracker Discovery Series.

This program services 35 to 40 children at each school from the Sunflower Educare Center and Gertrude Walden Childcare Center, offering them the chance to participate in dance inclusion programs. With the support of the Nancy O'Malley Scholarship Fund, children can enjoy creative movement, jazz, or pre-ballet through our Nutcracker Discovery Series, all while building their self-confidence.

This yearly performance series is a collaboration with the local library system that helps bring literacy to life. Each year, a classic children's book is choreographed into a performance as part of our dance inclusion programs. This initiative not only allows FADC students the opportunity to perform but also enriches young audience members. Additionally, it aligns with the mission of the Nancy O'Malley Scholarship Fund, supporting artistic growth and accessibility in the Nutcracker Discovery Series.

In conjunction with the Lyric Theatre, FADC offers the Nutcracker Discovery Series, providing The Nutcracker Ballet to school-age children at a discounted rate through our dance inclusion programs. This initiative ensures that all of our communities' children, including those supported by the Nancy O'Malley Scholarship Fund, have the opportunity to experience live theatre performance.

Thanks to the generosity of Nancy O'Malley, the Nancy O'Malley Scholarship Fund was established over 25 years ago to support dedicated young dancers through dance inclusion programs. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, allowing many talented students to start or continue their dance education, including participation in the Nutcracker Discovery Series.
